Description
Europeana is by far the most ambitious project in the field of European Cultural Heritage as well as in cultural digital technologies. With more than 36 Million records in the Europeana database, it’s the largest collection of object records from Cultural Heritage institutions not only in Europe, but worldwide (according to statistics.europeana.eu). Via regional and national aggregators in many European countries any museum, Library and Archive can contribute to the large collection of data. Sophisticated search tools, digital themed exhibitions, API for use and re-use of data and a large number of projects related to Europeana content and Europeana’s technologies make this source the most influential digital project in Cultural Heritage today.
